Specially selected to meet the full range of requirements, Westlock limit switches and sensors are suitable for both rotary and linear applications in standard, intrinsically safe and explosion-proof environments.  Limit switches and sensors are fitted as standard to specific valve control devices but can also be custom specified subject to compatibility. The Westlock range of limit switches and sensors include single and double pole mechanical switches, inductive proximity switches and sensors and an explosion proof position sensor resistant to shock and vibration stresses.

Switch Boxes and Valve Monitors

Westlock switch boxes and valve position monitors offer an integrated solution for the monitoring of rotary and linear process valves by combining switches/sensors, wiring terminals, enclosures and local visual indication in one compact unit. Designed around a unique self-locking spring-loaded TouchSet cam mechanism attached to a stainless steel shaft, no tools are necessary to adjust the cam allowing both sensors to be set by hand. 
Switch boxes are available in aluminium, stainless steel or engineered resin and in a choice of sizes providing ample working space and a direct wire-feed terminal block. They are suitable for all area classifications from weatherproof to explosion proof and offer an extremely efficient and cost effective method of monitoring rotary and linear valves.

Valve Control Monitors

The range of valve control monitors combines the capability of valve monitoring and control of automation process valves with integrated position sensors and low power energy solenoid valves in a single unit. The specially designed Falcon solenoid valves are mounted directly to the unit housing and are available with single or dual coils. 
Quantum valve control monitors are engineered and certified to meet both weatherproof and hazardous location requirements with housings available in aluminum, stainless steel and engineered resin providing a compact integration of sensors and controls.

Valve Network Solutions

The Intellis family of industrial control field Network Control Monitors use embedded control systems to automate valves and link field I/O to the host PLC or DCS. A field network is a specified number of network monitors, interconnected by a common communications protocol. Each monitor is assigned a unique address and accepts input/output signals from valve position sensors, solenoids and external alarm and control devices.  The Network Control Monitors are connected directly to either an electric or pneumatic actuated valve package and house two discrete Hall Effect sensors for valve position monitoring, a low-power solenoid valve for integrated actuation control, and a network interface module (Pac) for communication via a protocol of choice. Protocols supported include ASi®, DeviceNetTM, FOUNDATION FieldbusTM, PROFIBUS-DP and ModBus®. The network monitors communicate with a PLC, DCS or host computer via a gateway interface or scanner card having specific compatibility with the primary control network. Network Control Monitors are available for linear or rotary applications in all area classifications and Pharma II network control monitors are also available for sanitary applications in the pharmaceutical and biotech facilities. Westlock Digital and analogue position transmitters and digital control transmitters provide continuous feedback of a valve position integrated with valve position and control monitors in a stand-alone unit. The CS analogue position transmitter delivers precision and reliability using a 4-20mA signal and can be integrated with any of the range of Westlock position and control monitors. The Digital EPIC stand alone digital position and control transmitters are available compatible with both HART and FOUNDATION Fieldbus protocols and for all area classifications. Designed to combine continuous monitoring of valve travel with other valve control functions, position transmitters are ideal for use on applications requiring PST (partial stroke testing) or providing ESD (emergency shut down). The 793 pneumatic positioner uses a force balance principle and its compact design mounts directly to the actuator by means of a standard kit. The K10 electro-pneumatic (analogue) positioner is the first of its kind which can be calibrated with a simple push button automatic calibration procedure and completed in a few minutes. Designed specifically for sanitary applications the Pharma II and AccuTrak 9881 provide position and control monitoring for rotary and linear sanitary diaphragm valves.
