Flame Arresters
Explosion prevention and containment are prime considerations in all combustible mixture processing or vent line applications. Pneumatic Products manufactures a full line of flame arresters for Class C and D gases. We also have flame arresters that provide protection for Class B gases, including Hydrogen. Pneumatic Products flame arresters have rugged construction; cast iron or carbon steel housings with 316 stainless steel flame barriers. You will not find low temperature aluminum material used in any of our inline designs. Our unique flame barrier designs eliminate straight through heat conduction and prevent the flow of hot particulates through the flame arrester that may reignite flammable gases or vapors. Although our flame barrier could be subjected to flame temperatures exceeding 2000°F on the flame side of the barrier, the protected side of the barrier remains cool, even after extended burn periods. Pneumatic Products arresters have field proven designs that offer maximum protection at minimum cost.
Pneumatic Products offers single barrier flame arresters approved for most group C & D gases with flame velocities below 5 feet per second. For group B gases, including hydrogen, with flame velocities exceeding 5 feet per second, Pneumatic Products offers our unique double barrier design.
